UB and Universiti Malaya Discuss Development of Master of Accounting Curriculum for Student Mobility Program  

 

The Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) and the Accounting Department, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya (UM) held a joint discussion to align the Master of Accounting curriculum between the two institutions, in order to support the student mobility program that allows students from both universities to learn from each other and collaborate across countries. This activity took place on Friday, (18/10/2024) at Universiti Malaya.

It should be known that this activity is part of the DOKAR (Lecturer Works) program of Universitas Brawijaya in 2024. The discussion was attended by the FEB UB Accounting Department team led by Yeney Widya Prihatiningtias, DBA., Head of FEB UB Accounting Department, accompanied by the Head of the Master of Accounting Program, Noval Adib, Ph.D, as well as lecturers and professors who teach in the Master of Accounting Program. From Universiti Malaya, Dr. Noor Adwa binti Sulaiman, Head of Accounting Department FBE UM, along with Prof. Dr. Ruzita binti Juzoh and Dr. Dalilawati Zainal, lecturers in UM Accounting Masters Program.

In this discussion, the topics discussed included the development of a student exchange program curriculum that is in accordance with international standards, technology integration in learning, and strengthening student competencies in facing global challenges in the field of accounting.

Yeney Widya Prihatiningtias said that this discussion is an important step to ensure that students of the Accounting Masters program from both universities get quality and globally relevant academic experiences through the student exchange program.

“We want to create a curriculum that is not only internationally standard but also able to equip students with the skills needed in the digital economy era,” she said.

From Universiti Malaya, Dr. Noor Adwa binti Sulaiman emphasized that this collaboration will provide great benefits for both universities, especially in enriching students’ learning experiences through academic exchanges and joint research.

“We hope that the development of this curriculum can open up more opportunities for collaboration in the future, both in terms of research and student exchange programs,” he said.

The event was closed with an agreement to continue closer academic cooperation between the two universities, including the implementation of student mobility programs and joint research in the field of accounting. (*/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
