UB and UM Become the Host of MDGB PTNBH Plenary Session, Raise the Environmental Theme

Approximately 228 PTNBH Professors Attended the Plenary Session of Professor Council

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) and State University of Malang (UM) hosted the Plenary Session of the Board of Professors of Legal Entity State Universities or (MDGB PTNBH), for two days (15/3-16/3/2023). The activity which was held at Ijen Suites Hotel and Convention raised the theme “PTNBH Construction in Facing the Environmental and Natural Resources Crisis in Realizing Golden Indonesia 2045″

The Head of UB Professors Council, Prof.Dr. H. Armanu, SE., M.Sc said the environmental theme was deliberately raised to exchange opinions and understanding in order to foster cooperation between PTNBH.

“There are four main objectives of this series, namely first to formulate a harmonious and synergistic policy in dealing with the environmental crisis; secondly formulate strategic steps in dealing with the environmental and natural resource crises towards Golden Indonesia 2045; third, sharing experiences related to the role of each institution in preventing exploitation of the environment and natural resources, and fourth, promoting cooperation between PTNBH to tackle exploitation of the environment and natural resources,” said Prof. Armanu.

The 2023 MDGB PTNBH Plenary Session which was attended by around 228 professors is expected to produce a road map and scientific development in the field of environment and natural resources.

Meanwhile, the Head of MDGB PTNBH Prof. Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, S.H., M.A., Ph.D said the natural resource crisis and climate change had greatly affected the lives of Indonesian people.

“If there is an environmental and natural resource crisis, the effect will affect the quality of our lives,” he said.

UB Academic Senate Secretary, Prof. Iwan Triyuwono, SE. Ak., M.Ec, Ph.D said that this session needed to be presented because of the increasing number of crises starting from the economic, moral, and other fields.

UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., MSi., Ph.D said that the MDGB Plenary Session this time was a moment of opportunity for the nation’s children to think about Indonesia’s future.

“Natural resources-based development is how Indonesia processes these raw materials into industrial materials. Utilizing the natural environment that we have will be the capital for Indonesia’s development. Don’t let foreigners use this natural resource and let us enjoy just a little of it,” he said.
