Universitas Brawijaya (UB) provides financial assistance of IDR 500,000 for students who qualify for the Micro Credential Program. Micro-Credentials are certification of skills or competencies in certain fields of science given by official and professional organizers to someone who has successfully completed a series of programmed stages. Program socialization was carried out online to all UB students, Wednesday (29/5/2024).
“This program will provide learning to students that can be carried out online or offline. The Micro Credentials Program is designed for a short period of time to provide flexibility and easy access for someone to acquire new skills and competencies or improve existing competencies,” said activity presenter, Ir. Dewi Hardiningtyas, ST., MBA., M.T.
She added that the micro-credential assistance program is similar to subjects or courses that students can take.
Students from this micro-credential program can study courses from domestic and foreign universities. For example, if engineering students take this micro-credential program, they can study material from other universities, such as courses on soil mechanics at Chang’an University or psychology students can take psychology courses at Tsinghua University.
Through this program, students can also get official certification. This program was implemented because of considerable potential and benefits.
“So, in addition to students being able to improve their competence, students can enrich their knowledge from other resources outside campus, and also support the performance of higher education,” said the Industrial Engineering lecturer.
To take part in this micro-credential program, it should be noted that this program will be open on 27 May-3 June 2024 via the link (https://link.icei.ac.id/olehmk6) and also via the link (https;//s.ub .ac.id/registerkredentialmikro).
To get this funding, there are conditions that students must consider when registering for this assistance program, such as a minimum of 4th semester undergraduate, diploma or applied undergraduate students, taking part in a micro-credential program and reporting to the committee.
“Requirements to get assistance are active undergraduate, applied undergraduate or diploma students, at least semester 4 when the socialization is hold, can take part in learning on the ICE platform and others, actively complete learning until they get a certificate and are approved by the head of the study program,” said Dewi.
