Universitas Brawijaya (UB) sent five groups to the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo XV 2024 competition at Halu Oleo University (UHO) Kendari, Wednesday (16/10/2024).
The KMI Expo event organized by the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek) through the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDikti) Region X will last for three days (23/10-25/10/2024) at Halu Oleo University, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
The departure of UB KMI team was directly released by Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H. as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship.
In his speech, Dr. Setiawan appreciated the KMI activity. “Seen from the development of last year, there is better progress, we hope that this activity will be carried out as well as possible. Deficiencies can be conveyed for improvement so that this competition runs better. With this competition, participants will gain valuable experiences, hopefully with this we will achieve what we want,” he continued.

While the Head of the Student Affairs Subdivision, Dr. Ilhamuddin, S.Psi., M.A. conveyed that there are several stages that UB has prepared to face the 2024 KMI Expo competition, such as mentoring, training, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure that the program runs well, assuming that the selected groups are eligible to participate as the purpose of the expo itself.
“Of the five Expo Groups that passed, their turnover growth is certain to be good and they are indeed worthy of participating in the expo, interestingly the groups that passed were not selected internally by UB itself, but were selected by a review team from the central level,” he said.
The five groups of Student Entrepreneurship that passed, the first entitled “Your24” is a business group in the Manufacturing and Applied Technology category, chaired by Akza Yusri Rafiqi.
Then the second business group with the title “Realizing Sustainable Living with Worm Bins, an Innovative Solution for Organic Waste Management with a Circular Economy Approach Based on Home-Scale Worm Cultivation”, Cultivation category, chaired by Cahyo Ilham Firmansyah Subagio.
The third is “Hyper Strike Essence Fish Addict”, Tourism and Trade Services category, chaired by Muhammad Arifin Gymnastyar.
Fourth, “Innovation of Mini Aeroponics System Based on Internet of Things IoT to Support Sustainable Food Production”, Digital Business category, chaired by Muhammad Afifudin Arsyada, and the fifth is a business group entitled “Nema Production”, Digital Business category, chaired by Mohammad Riyan Fauzi.
“We hope that this year there will be an increase in our achievements, there will be an increase from previous achievements,” said Ilhamuddin.
This KMI Expo is a meeting place for student entrepreneurs from all over Indonesia to compete with each other, build networks and introduce innovative products. (KAN/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
