The atmosphere of Malang City tonight looks more lively than usual. The opening event of the “East Java International Student Experience 2024,” organized by the International Office of Universitas Brawijaya (IO-UB) in collaboration with AIESEC at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), has officially started. The event is attended by around 150 international students from various countries who are currently studying at different universities in Indonesia. Over the next three days, until August 9, they will be invited to explore and experience the beauty and cultural richness of East Java, particularly Malang City and Batu City.
After the opening, the event continued with an impressive cultural performance. The Bapang Dance, a traditional East Javanese dance, was performed with great enthusiasm by the student art group from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA UB). The dance performance captivated the audience.
The opening ceremony, held in the Auditorium of Building A, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, began with a warm welcome from the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc. In his speech, he expressed his joy in welcoming the students to visit Universitas Brawijaya and understand the culture of East Java, especially Malang City.
“I hope this program can provide an experience not only for international students but also for Universitas Brawijaya. We highly hope that through this program, we and the participants can share many stories, not only about the university environment and countries but also about culture,” said the Rector.
The opening ceremony concluded with a symbolic procession by the Rector, along with other UB leaders. With the official opening of this event, the participants are now ready to start their adventure. This program will not only give them the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and culture of East Java but also to develop themselves and build strong international relationships.
IO-UB hopes that through this program, the participants can take home beautiful memories, new knowledge, and friendships that will last a lifetime. The “East Java International Student Experience” is expected to be a memorable and inspiring event for all involved.
