This seminar was attended by teenagers from Patuksari Hamlet as well as several parents and community leaders.
In his speech, the Head of Patuksari Hamlet emphasized the importance of this seminar, considering that the drug problem is an issue that is very difficult to resolve and has a significant impact on the health, behavior, and future of the younger generation. “This drug problem is not only a national problem, but has become the center of international attention,” he said.
The Babinsa representative also delivered his speech, emphasizing the urgency of this anti-drug seminar as an effort to educate the teenagers of Patuksari Hamlet. He revealed that there are still many cases of drug abuse in Patuksari area and its surroundings, including several years ago that ensnared teenagers in Patuksari Hamlet.
This seminar presented three speakers from members of the PKM FH UB group five. Seveia Shaharani Putri Shendi presented material on the classification of types of narcotics, Evi Nur Fadilla discussed the direct and long-term effects felt by drug abusers, and Sinatrya Vian Firdaus conveyed the threat of criminal penalties against users as well as matters related to drug rehabilitation and sanctions for relatives or siblings who help hide or do not report drug abuse.
In her presentation, Evi Nur Fadilla said, “There will be several effects that will be felt by drug abusers. These effects are not only medical, but narcotics also have their own effects on the surrounding environment. Some of the effects that will be felt are decreased brain function and mental disorders, physical damage to the body, addiction and behavioral disorders, risk of overdose and death, risk of life and crime, and finally there are social and economic impacts that cause damage to social relationships with others.”
The great hope of holding this seminar for the Patuksari hamlet community is to be able to fight against drug abuse in the surrounding environment and become a provision of knowledge about the dangers of drugs for oneself, the environment and the economy. (dzilla/wdd/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
