UB is Ready to Compete in Indonesian Ship Contest with Eco-Friendly Fast Ship Innovation

Universitas Brawijaya team is ready to compete in the prestigious Indonesian Ship Contest (KKI) which will be held in Surabaya in October 2024. This contest is a national-level competition participated by various universities throughout Indonesia. In this event, the Universitas Brawijaya team will showcase a fast ship innovation that is specifically designed to compete with the best teams from various other universities.

With thorough preparation and support from the campus, Universitas Brawijaya team is optimistic that they can give their best performance. This team consists of students from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Computer Science, all of them work together to create an innovative and efficient fast ship design. The main focus of this team is to create a ship with high speed while still paying attention to stability and fuel efficiency.

The fast ship innovation brought by Universitas Brawijaya team in this competition is the result of research conducted by students under the guidance of lecturer. “We try to combine the latest technology with lightweight yet strong materials, so that the ships we make are not only fast, but also environmentally friendly,” said the Head of the KKI team, Muhammad Arif Arham Lubis, who is from the Fisheries Resources Utilization study program.

This competition is an important event for UB students to test their ability to design applicable technology and be ready to compete at the national level. KKI itself is known as a competition that demands high innovation and creativity, where each participant is challenged to present ship technology that is capable of operating in different water conditions.

Moreover, Universitas Brawijaya team is also committed to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork in every stage of the competition. Full support from the university, both in terms of facilities and funding, is an additional motivation for students to continue to give their best. It is hoped that through this competition, students can apply the knowledge they have gained in college to real projects.

Universitas Brawijaya’s participation in the KKI event is also part of the campus’s efforts to encourage innovation in the field of shipping technology. As a maritime country, Indonesia needs more young generations who are able to create technological solutions that support the advancement of the marine sector. Universitas Brawijaya hopes to provide real contributions through student achievements in this event.
