Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Tennis Team has again made an achievement in the field of sports by winning Second Place in the team category at the Rector Cup XI, University of Jember Tennis Championship, which was held on 25-27 October 2024. This championship was held in the context of the 60th Anniversary of University of Jember and involved tennis teams from various universities in Indonesia.
UB tennis team, consisting of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs. Setyawan Purnomo Sakti, M.Eng., Agung Sugeng Widodo, ST., MT., Ph.D., Dr. Susilo, SE., MS., Budiono, Samsurianto, Okky Andrianto, ST, Suryatmojo Saputro, Redy Gunawan Prasetya, S.Pt., Yanuar Widiantono, S.Pd., Fajar Agung Nugroho, S.Kom., M.AB., Moh. Sholihan, Mohammad Imron, and Mohamad Misbakhul Munir succeeded in making UB proud by displaying a high fighting spirit.
Agung Sugeng Widodo, ST., MT., Ph.D., UB team coordinator, expressed his pride in this achievement. “We are very grateful to be able to win Second Place in this championship. This achievement is the result of hard work and intensive training carried out by all team members. We hope that this achievement can be a motivation for the academic community of Universitas Brawijaya to continue to excel, both in academics and sports,” he said.
UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Widodo, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.Med.Sc., also gave his appreciation for the achievement of UB tennis team. “We are very proud of the achievements that have been achieved by UB tennis team in University of Jember Rector Cup event. This success reflects the positive spirit of competition and the commitment of all team members in making Universitas Brawijaya proud. We will continue to support and facilitate sports activities that can build character and cooperation among the academic community,” said Prof. Widodo.
This success is proof of Universitas Brawijaya’s commitment to supporting the development of student and lecturer interests and talents outside of academic fields.
