Banyuwangi is a tourist destination with a variety of MSME processed and craft products. This potential can be maximized by utilizing digital marketing to increase sales. Seeing this potential, a group of lecturers at Universitas Brawijaya from various faculties conducted community service related to data and digital training education in Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency.
A team of lecturers consisting of several faculties, namely the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, the Faculty of Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, carried out community service with the theme of village digitization. The MMD 1000 Village Strategic Grant Service Team invited village officials and MSME activists to take part in village data management training and training on digital marketing.
Village data management training is one of the activities that aims to lead to a digital village and accuracy in managing village potential data collection. Village data management training using the Microsoft Excel application in the form of a pivot table as an effort to facilitate the work of village officials with applications that are familiar to use. “Hopefully, village officials can present data more easily and accurately,” said Darmanto, S.Si., M.Sc.
In addition to village data management, the team also conducts digital marketing training activities. “Digital marketing training in Kalipuro District and its surroundings is considered necessary because there are many MSMEs growing in Banyuwangi. In addition to the massive growth of MSMEs in Banyuwangi Regency, this digital marketing training activity was carried out to increase the awareness of the people of Banyuwangi Regency, especially the people of Kalipuro District, Giri District and Wongsorejo District to carry out marketing on the MSME products they have, “he added.
During the implementation of village data management and digital marketing training activities, pre-test and post-test activities were given. The purpose of the two tests is to measure participants’ understanding of the material that has been given. The test results show that the activities of the two activities above have a good impact on the understanding of the knowledge of the trainees.
This community service activity in Kalipuro District was also welcomed and well supported by Kalipuro District, namely Astorik, S.Sos., and Joko Supeno, S.Sos., M.Sc., as the Head of Kalipuro Sub-District and the Secretary of Kalipuro Sub-District.
