FEB Community Service Team Encourages MSME to Strengthen Financial Inclusion

The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya through the Community Service DPP Program held a digital payment training for MSMEs in Malang City, Saturday (7/27/2024). This activity aims to introduce the convenience of cashless-based transactions, with a focus on the use of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard).

The activity was attended by MSMEs who do not yet have access to QRIS. In his remarks, the Chief Executive, Dr. Nanang Suryadi stated, “Through this activity, we want to help MSMEs in Malang City to adapt to digital payment technology. This will not only increase transaction efficiency but also help in developing their businesses more widely.”

The socialization which involving students included an explanation of the benefits of using QRIS, how to register, and technical steps in implementing a digital payment system. The students involved also provided practical guidance to the participants, helping them understand how to activate QRIS and integrate it with existing payment systems.

One of the participants, the owner of Kopi Perempat, expressed his enthusiasm for the program. “With QRIS, transactions are faster and safer. We hope this will increase customer trust and expand our market,” he said.

In addition, this activity also included an interactive Q&A session, where MSMEs could consult directly with lecturers and students. This discussion provided new insights for them in facing the challenges of digital transactions and utilizing technology to improve their businesses.

Nanang added, “We hope this activity can have a positive impact on MSMEs in Malang City. Digitalization of payments is an important step in advancing the local economy and increasing the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises.”

With full support from academics, government and business actors, as well as various related parties, this activity is expected to be a momentum for MSMEs to transform towards the digitalization era, increase access to a wider market, and strengthen financial inclusion in society.
