
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) officially released its contingent, Thursday (27/6/2024), to compete in the 2024 Indonesian Robot Competition (KRI) which will take place at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta. Similar to the previous year, FT and FILKOM UB collaborated together in this event. The official release of KRI team took place at the Auditorium of Prof. Ir. Suryono FT UB and attended by Deputy Dean III FT UB and FILKOM UB, supervisors, and students.
In his remarks, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, FT UB, Dr.Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM., gave motivation and enthusiasm to the team that would compete since UB had been victorious in the past in the same event previously. “We are very proud and fully support your struggle. This competition is not only an opportunity to achieve achievements, but also an opportunity to apply the knowledge that has been learned. “Show your best and bring the good name of your alma mater,” said Herry.
In line with Herry, Deputy Dean III of Filkom, Drs. Muh. Arif Rahman, M.Kom added that UB really supports various student activities when taking part in various competitions.
“Hopefully everything we have prepared so far can bring good results,” he said.
A total of five UB teams qualified for this year’s KRI. Four teams from FT and one team from FILKOM UB are members of several divisions, namely Humanoid Football Robot, Wheeled Ball Speak Robot, Dance Robot, ABU Robocon and Thematic Robot.
Eka Maulana, ST, MT., M.Eng. as one of the supervisors added that this competition was also an opportunity to develop students’ competitive experience.
“In addition to technical skills, this competition also hones teamwork skills and overcoming the challenges faced. We hope that this experience will be very valuable for students in the future,” said Eka.
The Indonesian Robot Competition (KRI) is a prestigious event participated in by various universities from all over Indonesia. KRI aims to encourage student innovation and creativity in the field of robotics and automation. This year, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta is hosting the competition which will take place from 1 to 6 July 2024.
