The Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI) is a prestigious annual event, organized by the National Achievement Center under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. KJI aims to spark the spirit of innovation and creativity of students in designing and building bridges that are not only strong and efficient, but also aesthetic and sustainable. This competition is an important platform for engineering students in Indonesia to contribute to national infrastructure challenges.
In 2024, Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) participated by sending one team, namely the Bimantara Team. This team consists of three students from the 2022 batch: M. Fajar Efendi, Rifqi Fakhrudin, and Sabila Fitri H., who are supervised by Dr. Eng. Ir. Eva Arifi, S.T., M.T., IPM., and Ir. Indra Waluyohadi, S.T., M.T., M.Sc.
“They bring high enthusiasm in designing bridges that not only meet technical requirements, but are also innovative and aesthetic,” said Ir. Indra as the supervising lecturer.
The Bimantara Team won a number of awards at KJI 2024. They won 2nd Place for Arch Bridge, Champion for the Most Beautiful Bridge Category, Champion for the Best Construction Method Category, and Champion for Favorite Social Media
This achievement is not only a source of pride for the Bimantara Team and Civil Engineering FTUB, but also proves that FTUB students are able to compete at the national level with high innovation and creativity. This success is expected to inspire other students to continue to develop their abilities in the field of civil engineering and contribute to infrastructure development in Indonesia.
With the various awards won, the Bimantara Team has shown that collaboration between students and lecturers at FTUB can produce quality works that are recognized at the national level. (mic/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
