Apatte 62 Brawijaya, electric car team of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) got fifth place out of 26 participants in the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Asia 2016 competition prototype category, Energy type battery-electric, which was held in Manila, Philippines, 3-6 March 2016.
These results were obtained after Appatte 62 Brawijaya team managed to get the best result on 248 km/kWh from 3 tries (on-track result). This achievement increased from last year where Tim Apatte 62 Brawijaya managed to got 205 km/Kwh in the same category.
“The result is actually beyond our initial prediction, but the result still increased from last year’s achievement. This year Thailand, China, and Singapore Teams super strong,” said team member Haryo Ridhonoto, Monday, March 7, 2016.
Before Appatte 62 Brawijaya team, fisrt to fourth place are Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU) Eco-Racing Thailand (507 km/kWh), Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Econopower Club of China (442 km/kWh), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Nanyang E Drive Singapore (425km/kWh), Institute of Technical Education (ITE) EcoTraveller Singapore (314 km/kWh). All the results obtained from five tries.
As in sixth place is Qatar University GernasS with the best results 100 km/kWh of 5 tries.
In addition to the fifth winner, also participated in this category were Multimedia University Melaka Campus Malaysia, GIKI of Engineering Sciences and Technology Pakistan, Guangzhou College of South China University of Technology, University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo, Brunei Institut of Technology, King Saud University Saudi Arabia, Indian Institute of Technology – Banaras Hindu University India, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University India, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology Philippines, and the Caledonian College of Engineering, Oman.
Apatte 62 Brawijaya team consists of Saifullah, Sa’roni, Rafdhika Ramadhani, Haryo Ridhonoto M., Oktavianus, Muhammad Naufal Aditya Fahmi, Naufal Dary Yulian, Alfian Ringga Nugroho, Arel Manta Tarigan, M. Abiyyu Arib Surya, and Muhammad Rughby.
The team that carries jargon “No Work before Safety” during the work was accompanied by two lecturers, Dr.Eng. Eko Siswanto, ST, MT and Dr.Eng. Denny Widhyanuriyawan, ST, MT. (and/mic)
