Do Not Have to be Diplomat, International Relations Create Business from Organic Waste

Being a graduate of International Relations, an Alumni of UB International Relations Study Program class of 2018, M. Hafizh Putranto doesn’t think he has to always be a diplomat. He has a passion for entrepreneurship.

Hafizh Putranto saw from his surroundings that the problem of organic waste was increasing and could disrupt the balance of the environment, causing him to create ngalamaggot.

“There are at least three main points in this business, namely the proper management of organic waste into high-protein animal feed and the rest into fertilizer, product development cultivation in BSF Maggot, and product development with KasGot (Former Maggot) as an organic product,” he said.

When asked about many IR graduates who have become ambassadors or diplomats, according to Hafizh, being involved in entrepreneurial field keeps him close to HI.

“In IR, we discuss decision making and negotiations. His knowledge is actually really useful when trying. The difference is only in the scope, in IR it is more to the country while the business time is more to our own business. For example, when negotiating with breeders or my business partners, they are used, “explained Hafizh.

Even though he experiences challenges every day, Hafizh has a business principle that can be made big by managing time. When it’s time to work, what you do is work and vice versa when the hours of rest or holidays are used for breaks or holidays.

“With such a principle, the ngalamaggot business has succeeded in getting Brawijaya Youth Entrepreneur 2022, we don’t even expect it to enter and pass funding,” he said.

Hafizh and his team also apply the principle of One Man’s Trash Is Another Man’s Treasure, namely what you throw away can be very valuable to other people. Organic waste that you underestimate can be economically valuable. (Uli/ Humas FISIP/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
