Department of Chemical Engineering (Tekim), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) received an online Accreditation Assessment by BAN-PT representatives online on Monday, September 28, 2020.
This activity uses zoom media and is led by Prof. Dr. Widayat, ST., MT (Diponegoro University) and Dr. Hesti Meiliana, ST., M.Si (Syiah Kuala University) as assessors.
“This is a form of verification of the documents that have been sent to us,” said Prof. Widayat when starting the Accreditation activity this morning.
Present online for today’s assessment are the UB Rector, Prof Dr Ir Nuhfil Hanani AR MS, Vice Rector (WR) I for Academic Affairs of UB Prof Dr Aulanni’am drh DES, Dean of FTUB Prof Dr Ir Pitojo Tri Juwono MT IPU and staff, Head of Tekim Department, Ir. Bambang Poerwadi, MS, Head of the Quality Assurance Cluster (GJM) Ir Ceria Farela Mada Tantrika ST MT, and the entire Team of the Accreditation task force.
In his speech, the Rector said that this accreditation visitation is a form of UB’s commitment which always wants to improve the quality of study programs (Prodi) because this is what is first seen to measure the quality of Higher Education, the quality of the institution.
“I always emphasize to the Deans, including WR1, to always improve the accreditation of the study program and this is an performance indicator of each faculty,” he said.
If the accreditation is good, he continued, then the quality of graduates will also increase, and in turn Indonesia will have good human resources as well.
“If you have received ‘A’ for this accreditation, you cannot stop with it. Increase it to become internationally accredited,” he added.
To note, UB already has 33 internationally accredited study programs, and this year there will be 8 more study programs that will follow.
The Rector hopes that with the increasing in quality, UB and all its faculties and study programs will be known not only domestically, but also abroad.
Finally, he advised the task force team to provide the best and complete supporting data possible so that the assessment activities run smoothly.
“For assessors, please give us input so that we can improve the quality of the Tekim undergraduate study program and of course we will follow it up,” he concluded.
After the Rector speech, the assessors team immediately started a session with the Head of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), continued with the quality assurance team, interviews with lecturers/staff/students/alumni, and this first day will ended with a session with the UPPS management team.
This Accreditation Assessment will be continued tomorrow (29/Sep/2020), that is the Observation Session, a clarification to infrastructure and other supporting documents that already submitted. (mic)
