Universitas Brawijaya Emergency Disaster Team (TED-UB) was dispatched to help victims of Cianjur earthquake, Tuesday (29/11/2022). The 20 people who departed consisted of the Faculty of Medicine’s Student Health Institute (FK), the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES), and the psychosocial team from Psychology FISIP. They will serve for seven days.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. dr. Wisnu Barlianto, M.Sc.Med., Sp.A (K) when dispatched hopes that this joint team will be able to carry out this humanitarian task well, be healthy, safe, and be able to provide comprehensive services.
“The team has coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency, and has obtained any information needed, so it is hoped that the assistance will be right on target,” said the Dean.
Field Coordinator, dr. Nursamsu said that this activity would be aimed more at the community, because many of the emergencies had been resolved.
“So we will go directly to the community, especially for public health issues, the need for clean water, and distribute aid to the right hands.
Some of the resources brought include 2 logistics cars, 1 ambulance, 3 trail motorbikes, and a tanker to meet the clean water needs of the refugees.
Head of TED UB, dr. Aurick Yudha Nagara, Sp.EM., KPEC said, these infrastructure facilities were needed so that aid could be distributed properly and on target.
“Cianjur is a mountainous area, sometimes there are only footpaths, bringing a double cabin car and a trail bike will be very useful. So there is easy access to distribute aid to the most difficult points to reach,” he explained.
The assistance that will be distributed includes from KPRI worth IDR 25,000,000 in the form of tarpaulin, kid sanitary and ATK, assistance from alumni of FK-UB class 1973-1974 worth IDR 10,000,000, assistance from the Indonesian Agricultural Economic Association worth IDR 21,220,000, and assistance from the Commissariat of the FK-UB Alumni Association Rp. 10,000,000.
