Tech Fair Vol.1 Exhibits 200 Websites Created by UB Students

UB Vocational Faculty held Tech Fair Vol.1, namely an exhibition of technological works in the form of a website

The Vocational Faculty of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held Tech Fair Vol.1, namely an exhibition of technological works in the form of a website, for two days, Tuesday-Wednesday (4-5/06/2024). This activity was held by the Research and Technology Innovation Department of the Information Technology Study Program Student Association (HMPSTI), and was attended by students in the field of interest in Information Systems and Information Technology class of 2022.

This annual activity was held for the first time at UB Dieng Campus. Previously, it was routinely held on the main campus. This exhibition event is also part of the achievements of the 4th semester Final Examination (UAS).

There are more than 200 websites exhibited in this event. Chairman of HMPSTI 2024, Raka Freda, said that there were five main themes that were used as references in creating the website, namely: lifestyle, culinary, financial, art & design, and education. Exhibitors are given the freedom to innovate according to a predetermined theme.

Some examples of innovations on display include: lifestyle websites that provide healthy and trendy lifestyle tips, culinary platforms that review and recommend the best places to eat, financial applications that help manage personal finances, online galleries that display art and design work from students, and education portal that offers a variety of interactive learning materials.

Raka said that preparations for the event took three weeks, while preparations for the exhibitors had started three months before the event took place. This activity collaborated with the Vocational Playground community, and was attended by hundreds of visitors.

“The response from visitors seemed very positive and enthusiastic, considering that this was the first time that IT study program students had exhibited their work on campus. Many visitors were impressed by the quality and innovation of vocational students’ work, even offering cooperation and collaboration,” said Raka.

Besides exhibition event, it is hoped that the Tech Fair will become an initial bridge for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in the form of projects that make a real contribution to the wider community.

“The plan is that the Tech Fair will be held again, of course there will be improvements in terms of technical and innovation,” he concluded. [Hilya/Irene/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
