DIK Visits USK to Improve KIP and Social Media Risk Management

The Information and Public Relations Division (DIK) of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) conducted a working visit to Syiah Kuala University (USK) Aceh to improve the quality of implementation of Public Information Openness (KIP) and social media risk management within UB environment.

UB delegation which led by the Head of DIK, Zulfaidah Penata Gama, SSi., MSi., PhD, was warmly welcomed by the USK leadership, including the Deputy Chancellor IV of USK, Prof Dr Ir Taufiq S. M.Eng., IPU. The activity took place at the USK Rectorate Building with a series of discussion and presentation agendas.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ir Taufiq S. M.Eng., IPU expressed his pride of the visit and hoped that this activity could become a place to exchange experiences that would be beneficial for both parties.

“We are very happy to receive a visit from UB. Hopefully through this activity, we can learn from each other and enrich our knowledge regarding KIP and social media risk management,” he said.

Zulfaidah expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome from USK. SHe added that this comparative study was important to increase the transparency and effectiveness of public communication in the university environment.

“We hope to learn a lot from the best practices implemented by USK in terms of information disclosure and social media management. This is an important step for us to continue to improve the quality of information services to the public,” said Zulfaidah.

The activity was filled with various discussion sessions discussing KIP policies, communication strategies on social media, as well as risk management related to the use of social media. The USK team presented several of their superior programs which have succeeded in increasing transparency and public participation, including the use of information technology to support data and information openness.

This working visit marks a step forward for UB in its efforts to improve KIP services and better manage social media risks.
