Academic and Studentship Bureau University of Brawijaya (BAK-UB) organized a socialization of SNMPTN (Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/National Selection of State Universities), SBMPTN (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/Joint Selection of State Universities) and independent selection at UB in academic year of 2016/2017, Tuesday (1/Mar/2016). The event that organized at Samantha Krida building attended by 842 School principals all of High Schools in East Java.
BAK-UB’s Head Dra. Ernani Kusdiantina, MM delivered, the event held by UB as extension of SNMPTN/SBMPTN national committee. Mentioned by her, based on 2015 data, UB occupied the third position of the largest SNMPTN applicants after Padjadjaran University and Gadjah Mada University.
“Does not rule out the possibility, in 2016 the applicants will increase and so give impacts in UB’s tightness and capacity increasing. Therefore, socialization is necessary and so students will not make a mistake in choosing majoring or wrong in stepping,” said Ernani.
Ernani explained, there are fundamental changes of capacity allocation in the three selection pathways this year including SNMPTN 40 percent, SBMPTN 30 percent, and independent selection 30 percent. Independent selection at UB so-called Seleksi Penerimaan Minat dan Kemampuan (SPMK/Interests and Abilities based Admission Selection), consist of written exam after SBMPTN, Vocational Education and Disabled Services and Study Centre (Pusat Studi dan Layanan Disabilitas/PSLD).
The study program election procedures should be noticed that they should choose a linear study program with previous major in High School. This regard was delivered by Administrative Head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Drs. Agus Yuliawan. In addition, for student candidate who has non-academic achievement, hopefully submit test ID-card and legalized non-academic achievement certificate towards targeted state universities all over Indonesia.
“This is to make the committee easier to detect prospective students directly,” said Agus.
Meanwhile Sub-Division Head of Student’s Welfare Heri Prawoto mentioned, many fresher enrolled at UB in SNMPTN or SBMPTN pathway with a bidikmisi registration background, but they are only accepted the academic, and not with bidikmisi.
“Please convey this to students who enrolled at state universities thus they can really thoroughly check the announcement whether accepted merely the academic or bidikmisi also accepted. Bidikmisi grantee also not automatically accept funding when enrolled at college, thus have to prepare early funding and minimum boarding cost two up to three months minimum,” he ordered.
