In the series of PKK MABA 2024 events, UB Library had the opportunity to conduct library socialization for new students. The event, which was attended by approximately 5,000 new students, took place at the Samantha Krida Building UB starting at 12.30 WIB. This socialization was guided by the Head of UB Library, Dr. Iwan Permadi, S.H., M.Hum., who explained various important information regarding the facilities and services available at UB Library.
In his presentation, Dr. Iwan Permadi introduced various aspects of UB Library, starting from service opening hours, how to access the library, to the modern facilities available. Iwan explained about library facilities such as sophisticated multimedia, a co-working space designed with modern and instagrammable aesthetics, and a complete collection of library materials. UB Library not only provides a collection of printed books, but also e-resources that have a subscription value of up to 12 billion rupiah.
“Nowadays, UB Library is no longer just a place to look for books but has become a center of activity, namely the center of UB students’ activities starting from doing assignments, group discussions, workshops and library classes,” said Mr. Iwan explaining the positive changes in UB Library.
Dr. Iwan also explained the importance of utilizing library facilities and collections optimally by all UB students. This is expected to support students’ academic and research activities, giving them access to various sources of relevant and quality information.
One of the things that caught the attention of the participants was when Dr. Iwan revealed that UB Repository was ranked first in Indonesia, outperforming various other state universities.
The enthusiasm of the new students was clearly visible throughout the event, especially when they heard the achievements and various advantages possessed by UB Library. This socialization is expected to be an important first step for new students in utilizing the various facilities available to support their academic success at Universitas Brawijaya.
