Library Holds Socialization and Optimization of E-Resource Utilization

In an effort to improve the utilization of subscribed electronic resources, the Head of UB Library, Prof. Dr. Iwan Permadi, S.H., M. Hum, periodically schedules the Socialization and Optimization of E-Resources Utilization activities carried out by the Collection Procurement Section and the Service Section.

This activity is carried out directly by visiting library visitors and inviting them to talk about the activities being carried out in the library. Through an interactive approach, the Library team then introduces various e-resource collections that have been subscribed to with a fairly large value. Some of the superior e-resources available include Springer Nature, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, CNKI, Westlaw, Gale and many more.

In this socialization, students were given practical guidance in accessing and searching for e-resources. The results of interactions with students show that so far most of them still rely on Google Scholar as the main reference source in doing assignments and research. In fact, e-resources subscribed to by UB Library offer access to more complete and valid journals and academic sources.

In addition to being carried out at UB Library, the team also continued socialization to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). This step aims to reach more students and ensure that they can access quality academic information without being limited by space and time.

With this activity, it is hoped that more students will switch from free reference sources that are sometimes less credible to official e-resources subscribed to by the UB Library. This step is part of UB’s commitment to support the development of the quality of research and scientific work of students and the academic community as a whole. To access UB e-resources, users can directly visit the following link: https://lib.ub.ac.id/e-resources-ind/

If the user is outside the UB network, for example at home, boarding house or public place, they must use EduVPN UB. For the guide, please watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx7ubz7WqUU&t=7s

UB Library invites all students to make maximum use of the available e-resources. For more information on how to access e-resources, students can visit the official website of Universitas Brawijaya Library or come directly to the information service at UB Library. (*/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
