
To provide convenience in shopping for books, Universitas Brawijaya through UB Press inaugurated a mini UB Bookstore outlet, on Monday (3/2-2025). This outlet was inaugurated by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP together with the Head of UPT Library and representatives of the Indonesian Publishers Association (IKAPI) in the hallway of the Central Library, UB.

In his remarks, the Head of UPT Library, Prof. Dr. Iwan Permadi, SH., M.Hum welcomed the collaboration of these two units. “There is a strong synergy between UB Press and the Library in providing various books, since the number of visitors to the Library every day is also quite large. And we use this to promote UB Bookstore,” he explained.

Positive appreciation was also conveyed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs. In his speech, Imam welcomed the presence of a bookstore in the Library. “Research proves that there is a difference between reading printed books and reading on a cellphone. Statistically, reading in printed form is still more effective,” he explained.
“We are providing a lounge with the aim of facilitating the provision of printed books, as part of an effort to remember. From an academic perspective, we are interested in increasing interest in reading and the success of reading effectiveness,” he added.
After the inauguration, Imam reviewed the location and collection of UB Bookstore located on the 1st floor of the Central Library building. Not only providing theory books, UB Bookstore also provides various other book genres such as fiction and non-fiction to self-development. (VQ/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
