Handover Ceremony of Broiler Teaching Farm Facilities between Faculty of Animal Science UB and PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk.

Malang, September 18, 2024 – The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), and PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. officially held the handover of two Broiler Teaching Farm units with a capacity of approximately 4,000 chickens at the Sumbersekar Laboratory, Malang Regency. This event marks a strategic collaboration between academia and industry to enhance student competencies through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.

The event was attended by the Fapet UB team, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. M. Halim Natsir, alongside Dr. Hermanto, Head of Sumbersekar Field, Dr. Agus Susilo, Vice Dean II, Dr. Eko Widodo, Vice Dean III, Dr. Heli Tistiana, Head of MBKM at Fapet UB, Dr. Feri Eko H., Head of Teaching Farm Sumbersekar, and Dr. Adelina Ari H., Head of the Animal Science Undergraduate Program.

From PT. Ciomas Adisatwa, the event was attended by Budi Fathoni (Head of Region East Java 1), Djoko Sudjayanto (Production Coordinator East Java 1), Waluyo (HRD Region East Java 1), and Dwiyanto Hari (Head of Singosari Unit). Representatives from PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. included Rachmat Indrajaya (Head of Corporate Affairs), Agus Mulyono (Social Investment Manager), Argha Akbar (Social Investment Specialist), and Andik.

In his speech, Prof. M. Halim Natsir, Dean of Fapet UB, expressed his gratitude to the team from PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia and PT. Ciomas Adisatwa for the ongoing collaboration and significant contributions to the renovation of the broiler facilities at the Sumbersekar Laboratory. “We hope this collaboration will benefit our students through MBKM activities and add value to PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia,” said Prof. Halim. He also highlighted that Fapet UB will soon launch a new Smart Animal Science program, which is expected to further enhance synergies with PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia.

Rachmat Indrajaya, Head of Corporate Affairs at PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk., expressed the company’s commitment to supporting the development of high-quality human resources through collaborations with universities. “This partnership aims to provide benefits for Fapet UB students, enabling them to better understand the developments in the livestock industry, especially in large-scale companies like PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia,” said Rachmat. He also mentioned PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia’s support for AI-based research development at Fapet UB.

The event concluded with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya, and PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk., followed by a joint discussion between Fapet UB, PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk., and PT. Ciomas Adisatwa.

This collaboration is expected to continue and provide significant benefits for students and the advancement of the livestock industry in Indonesia. mtn
