On this occasion, Bayu also expressed his gratitude and pride as an organizer because of the enthusiastic registrants, both lecturers and students, who today will present their papers and discuss them with fellow lecturers and various stakeholders.
“This activity is a follow-up to the KKN activities which have been carried out in 1000 villages. In this activity there were 13 thousand students and around 500 lecturers who carried out community service activities. “So, through this activity, we really hope that you can convey the results of what has been carried out at the community service location to the community,” he concluded.
Whereas, the Head of LPPM UB, Prof. Luchman Hakim, S.Si., M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., in his speech added that LPPM really appreciates the performance of the participants. He said, universities as part of their duties are to carry out community service activities, which of course will be increasingly needed in the future.
“Universities have done a lot of research, developed appropriate technology packages even up to modern technology. Well, if this doesn’t reach the community, it will also become a problem. “So this university will just become an ivory tower,” he explained.
“So today is actually only a small part of our activities to differentiate various community service activities, so that we fellow service members ultimately know and understand the work of our friends and in the end can build collaboration,” he added.
At the end of his speech, Luchman advised his fellow students as the next generation to also capture the brilliant ideas of the lecturers and then in the future they can join together with the lecturers to go to villages together to continue the MMD activities that UB has initiated.
“Help each other, synergize so that in the end it will produce extraordinary activities and hopefully this will accelerate the goals of sustainable development goals which are also the mandate of our joint activities,” said Luchman (ron/UB pR/ Trans. Iir)
