Nine Pharmacy Students Participated in Student Outbound Program in UMS Malaysia

A total of six students from the Pharmacy Study Program (PSF) and three students from the Pharmacist Professional Study Program (PSPA) Department of Pharmacy – Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKUB) had the opportunity to take part in a series of Student Outbound activities which were held from 13 May to 24 June 2024. in Sabah, Malaysia.

Secretary of the Department of Pharmacy, Dr. Apt. Valentina, S.Farm, M. Farms said that, this activity is a form of collaboration between FKUB and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University Sabah Malaysia. In this activity, these students took part in several activities, for example carrying out learning activities on the topic of One Health.

In addition, students also carried out health promotion activities on the topics of antimicrobial resistance and DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Store and Dispose of Medicines) properly and correctly. Learning activities were carried out at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and health promotion activities were carried out at Sikuati Health Clinic and Sumangkap Village, Kudat, Malaysia.

In the series of activity, FKUB Pharmacy Students also had the opportunity to visit the UMS Treatment Center and learn about pharmaceutical regulations and services in health facilities in Malaysia.

This activity is expected to have a positive impact on students because these students can practice knowledge and skills directly in community service activities in Sabah, Malaysia.

Furthermore in this series of activities, students can also carry out Inter Professional Education (IPE) activities with Universiti Malaysia Sabah medical students through health promotion activities carried out together. (Department of Pharmacy for FKUP PR/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
