Welcoming the change to Legal Entity Higher Education (PTNBH), now Universitas Brawijaya starts improving to create a more advanced, efficient and interrelated information service system from university to faculty level. Likewise International Office (IO) which has been managing various activities related to mobility, staff, students and cooperation within UB. So far, the information and databases owned by the faculty through PSIK sometimes still do not match the data owned by the university, especially in information that leads to cooperation/ Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Therefore, it is necessary to provide information services and databases that are integrated each other through uniform application systems, both from PSIK faculties, IO and university.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Ifar Subagiyo, M.Agr.St as the Director of International Office revealed that IO and PSIK will later become part of the university’s institutional structure, with the hope that data and information integration can be harmonious. “Through this technical guidance activity, we want the data of foreign students, degree and non-degree students can be recorded properly in the future. IO has also adapted the integrated application system in terms of international cooperation used by the university headquarters, because the system has been adapted to the new provisions regarding the output of collaboration. University will not be oriented to the number of MoUs, but will place more emphasis on the output of each agreement,” he said.
Since early 2020, UB has used the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) guidelines from the Ministry of Higher Education which creates a new paradigm in the field of cooperation in the university scope. Where there is no longer a competitive approach with other universities in determining the number of collaborations with stakeholders, but the results of cooperative activities that have been calculated. Several collaborative activities that are currently the focus of the university, such as a lecturer works grant program which output can be applied to an MoU, a 3 in 1 program and visiting professors as well as funding that the results of it can also be used as a joint research agreement and others. With the presence of an integrated data information service, it will certainly determine and influence the achievement of university rankings through the validation of IKU conducted by the ministry of higher education.
