A total of 236 proposals for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) are qualified for funding from the Higher Education. This number puts UB in fourth position after UGM with 348 proposals, ITS with 298 proposals, and IPB with 244 proposals.
PKM UB Coordinator Dr.Agr.Sc. Hagus Tarno, SP., MP., Explained that the increase in the number of PKM Proposals this year is inseparable from the 1500 Proposals program launched by UB.
The number of PKM proposals that received Higher Education funding are PKM Entrepreneurship or PKM K (51), PKM invention or PKM KC (42), PKM Application of Science and Technology or PKM PI (19), PKM Community Service or PKM PM (20), PKM Exact Research or PKM RE (71), PKM Social Humanities Research or PKM RSH (21), and PKM Constructive Futuristic Ideas or PKM GFK totaling 12 proposals.
“The 1,500 proposals Movement Program turned out to be able to increase the contribution of PKM proposals to each faculty. The increase in the number of proposals is also influenced by the intensive coordination between Rectorates who are assisted by the Research Circle in stimulating the making of proposals, and the increasing number of assistant lecturers and internal reviewers in each faculty, “he said.
If last year’s PKM was carried out online, then in 2021 there will be possible to be held in hybrid by combining Offline and Online.
“This year, there are additional categories, namely PKM Innovative Work which is managed by the Director General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education and Culture. Unfortunately, the information has not been optimally obtained by various universities, causing not many submitting proposals for this PKM. UB itself only sends six proposals, but none of them are accepted, ”he said.
Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Drs. Abdul Hakim, M.Si added that this year’s PKM demands a higher level of intellectuality in order to qualify for funding by the Higher Education.
