FISIP Universitas Brawijaya (UB) held a National Workshop with the theme National Idea in Inclusive Citizenship and Politics of Welfare, Tuesday (19/7/2022) in the Nuswantara Hall of FISIP UB.
National figures were also presented in this workshop. Such as the Chairman of the KPU RI Hasyim Asy’ari SH., M.Sc., Ph.D, the Chairperson of the RI Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja, SH. LL.M, a member of the DPR RI who was also present at this workshop, namely H Ali Ahmad SH from the PKB faction. Then Willy Aditya S.Fil., M.T from the Nasdem faction and Drs Djarot Saiful Hidayat., M.S from the PDI-P faction.
The Chief Executive of the National Workshop, Sahirul Alim, said that this activity was carried out as a manifestation of the campus’ concern for the 2024 election event.
“The campus certainly wants an ideal concept so that welfare politics can be realized,” he said.
The presence of national figures at this activity, according to Sahirul, helped to realize a good concept for inclusive citizenship and politics of welfare.
“This activity will continue not just stop here. Because a national gathering like this needs to be done so that the ideal discourse can continue to be built,” continued the man who is also a lecturer in UB Communication Studies.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP UB, Dr. Sholih Muadi, said that this national gathering is one of the ways to a fun democracy which is also a program of KPU.
“The plan is that the KPU together with RRI and TVRI will carry out a fun democracy. FISIP UB is ready to participate, one of which is with this national workshop,” he explained.
According to Sholih, democracy should not be in a commotion. So that this national dialogue will be an important moment for all.
“it looks like we have competition outside. If you find it, nothing happens. This is a good form of dialogue,” continued the man who is also a lecturer in Political Science.
The national workshop which was opened directly by UB Rector was followed by a collaboration between Universitas Brawijaya and Bawaslu RI. (Humas FISIP/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
