
Achievements are not only obtained in the arena. This time, Universitas Brawijaya students who are members of Reyog Brawijaya have the honor to appear as part of Parade Senja. This agenda is part of a series of flag lowering ceremonies during the anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, at Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, last Thursday afternoon (17/8/2023).
In this agenda, Reyog Brawijaya team presented the story of Hastabrata in front of the ceremony participants. This story also led this team to bring home the RI President’s Cup at the Reyog Ponorogo National Festival, some time ago. Senja Parade is an activity initiated by the Culture and Tourism Office of East Java Province in collaboration with Universitas Brawijaya in collaboration with students of SMKN 12 Surabaya and Surabaya artist community.
According to Bayu Aji Pradana as the team representative, UB deployed 113 personnel. “This team consists of 79 dancers, 31 musicians and 13 officials. The hope, from the title Hastabrata, can be a guide for a leader who has a leadership spirit, “he explained.
Not only players, Reyog Brawijaya team was also accompanied by Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Denny Nuriyawan, S.T,. M.T and Dr. Agung Pramana W.M, M.Sc as the advisor and coach, this team impressed the invited guests.
Furthermore, Bayu hopes that Reyog will be increasingly recognized internationally. “The next hope is that Reyog Brawijaya will continue to exist in introducing this noble cultural art to the international world,” he explained.
In the near future, Reyog Brawijaya will also appear on the Indonesian Culture Night agenda in Thailand for the Indonesian arts and culture mission. (VQ/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
