Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya again added a number of new engineers. The inauguration was held on Wednesday (23/2/2022) at the Prof. Suryono Hall, FT by implementing limited online and offline event.
Presented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadi Suyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPUAseanEng as the Dean, FT will inaugurate 133 engineer candidates this period. “All participants have met the requirements and administration to become engineers. Academic requirements are carried out through a portfolio assessment using the past learning recognition (RPL) method,” he said.
According to Hadi, these prospective engineers come from various scientific backgrounds. “The participants’ backgrounds consist of Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology, Architecture, Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Fisheries, Urban and Regional Planning, Physics, Chemistry, Geodesy and Geology,” he explained. .
Since its inauguration until now, FT has appointed 379 engineers, with various work backgrounds, ranging from academics to consultants, BUMN workers to the Ministry of PUPR.
On the same occasion, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FT also inaugurated the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya as the Best Engineer for VII Batch.
In his remarks, the Rector hoped that engineers could anticipate future challenges. “The key to facing the 4.0 revolution is the quality of human resources and innovation. The quality of HR does not rely on a long degree but competence, professional certification. Ind is 10th ranked in the profession, very closely related to the profession and economics. The hope is that it can further develop professions in UB,” he said.
He also said that in the future, all fields are expected to be able to take professional certification. “People’s trust depends on the profession,” he added.
