Brawijaya University through PSDKU UB Kediri inaugurated lecture building III. The building located at Jl. Pringgodani, Mrican Village, Mojoroto District, Kediri City was officially inaugurated by the Rector of Brawijaya University, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., Med.Sc, Chair of Academic Senate, Prof. Nuhfil Hanani, Director of PSDKU UB Kediri, Prof. Sholeh Hadi Pramono, Acting Mayor of Kediri Zanariah and community figures in Kediri City.
In his speech, the Director of PSDKU UB Kediri emphasized that the existence of PSDKU UB Kediri in the Mrican sub-district had a very big impact. “Hopefully the existence of PSDKU UB Kediri can improve the quality of education in Kediri career area in particular and increase the economic growth of Kediri area,” said Sholeh.
He added that PSDKU UB Kediri is also equipped with a number of laboratories that can be utilized by the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Faculty of Fisheries as well as under the supervision of Brawijaya University. He is also very optimistic that the improvement in facilities and infrastructure at PSDKU UB Kediri will improve the quality of education even higher.
In line with Sholeh, Chair of Academic Senate, Prof. Nuhfil Hanani AR., M.S is also proud that now students at PSDKU UB Kediri not only come from Kediri area and surrounding areas but also many from other regions and even the archipelago. “We have high hopes that PSDKU UB Kediri will become a truly extraordinary university,” he said.
PJ Mayor of Kediri Zanariah also conveyed positive appreciation regarding the construction of PSDKU UB Kediri in Kediri City. “As the Acting Mayor of Kediri, who will end after the elected regional head is inaugurated, I would like to express my gratitude for the collaboration between PSDKU UB Kediri and the Kediri City Government. Hopefully my presence can make a small contribution so that this city develops further and the presence of PSDKU UB Kediri increases regional income,” said PJ Mayor of Kediri, Zanariah.
She hopes that the community will maintain ethics and create a conducive atmosphere, considering the interest of students not only from Kediri area but also from outside Kediri and even outside Java.
To the Deans, the Rector hopes that the faculty will be able to open new study programs at PSDKU UB Kediri. “Regarding the opening of the study program, it is very appropriate since there are already 3 buildings, so we ask the Dean if he want to increase the number of students, add PSDKU UB Kediri, not UB Malang. Alhamdulillah, FISIP is ready with an undergraduate International Relation study program and maybe later it will be included in postgraduate studies,” explained the Rector.
He also thanked the entire community, the mayor, Regional Secretary, Military Headquarter, commander of army administrative, District military command, Police Chief who have supported and helped Brawijaya University, and hoped that in the future PSDKU UB Kediri would also have an international standard.
Now PSDKU UB Kediri has 3 lecture buildings, all of which have 3 floors. This will certainly complete and add the lecture facilities and infrastructure which previously had been built in a biological center laboratory, basic biology laboratory, climatology laboratory, field laboratory consisting of animal husbandry and fisheries.
Currently PSDKU UB Kediri manages 3 faculties and 5 study programs. Faculty of agriculture with undergraduate agroecotechnology and undergraduate agribusiness study programs. Faculty of Animal Husbandry with a undergraduate of Animal Husbandry study program. Faculty of fisheries, marine sciences with undergraduate studies in aquaculture and undergraduate socio-economics in fisheries. (UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
