The Rector discontinues the plan in construction of centralized parking building. Although its permission from the Ministry of Finance has been released yet its partnership requirements with the third party urges the Rector has to think twice.
“If there is a partnership with the third party, it means that students should pay. So we are no longer consider to make parking building, yet the money is better for research,” said Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Bisri, MS in the event of hearings between the Rector and student’s executive elements, Student Executive Agency in faculties, Tuesday (17/May/2016) in the 6th floor of UB’s Main Office. The event organized by Student Representative Council, University of Brawijaya.
As a compensation for the delay in construction of the parking building, UB will maximize the existing parking pockets. The available parking pockets for students are such as near the Samantha Krida building, former football field (the north side of FISIP building), Guest House and Faculty of Computer Science.
The statement released by the Rector to answering questions proposed by President of the Student Executive Agency of the Faculty of Law. In addition to ask related with centralized parking building, he also asked about the cost of borrowing building for students’ activities.
The Rector affirmed that students should be exempted from paying the cost of borrowing building. In the similar occasion, the Vice Rector II on Finance and Administration Affairs affirmed, if students have pure student-based activities without any business items then it is guaranteed there will no expense to be charged.
