To enliven the 62nd Anniversary, UB held a Healthy Walk around the campus environment. This activity was carried out together with the entire academic community and the community around the campus, Sunday (12/15/2024).
The Chairperson of the 62nd Anniversary Committee, Abdul Ghofar, SE, MSi, DBA, Ak expressed his gratitude for the support of the partners who had made the event a success, including the implementation of the healthy walk. “As the Rector’s message which was quite heavy, for the entertainment stage that must collaborate with IKA (Alumni Association) and must not use student funds (Single Tuition Fee), therefore we express our gratitude to the many sponsors,” he said.
This Healthy Walk was enlivened for the first time with a Colossal Drama entitled “Hikayat Raja Brawijaya or The Story of King Brawijaya”. The Head of the Dies Committee and Dean of FEB conveyed that this colossal drama was a collaboration of all Student Activity Units (UKM). This drama is a contemporary drama that takes dialectical values from the Majapahit kingdom era, especially in the aspects of science and leadership values.
In addition, the stage was also enlivened by the band Ndarboy and Gigi which were warmly welcomed by the participants of UB healthy walk. Ndarboy began his performance with the song “Pamer Bojo”.
Previously, the healthy walk participants enjoyed breakfast provided by the committee. Breakfast was obtained by exchanging the Healthy Walk coupon cards that were distributed in the middle of the route. Each faculty showed a stand that provided various menus such as Nasi Biryani, Gado-gado, Nasi Campur, siomay and other menus.
UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., Med. Sc, in his speech said that he hoped the committee would not use university funds. Therefore, he expressed his gratitude to the alumni and partners who supported the implementation of the peak event of the 62nd UB Anniversary. He also hopes that some of the funds collected can be put into the Endowment Fund owned by UB.
The Endowment Fund is UB fund that is eternal, the results of which are used to ensure the sustainability of the program. Currently, the Rector said that funds of Rp 50 billion have been collected. However, this fund is still small compared to the needs for a sustainable program worth of Rp 10 trillion. [sitirahma/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
