The Study Program Outside the Main Campus of Universitas Brawijaya Kediri, on Monday (1/7) released its students to carry out Community Service activities. A total of 373 PSDKU UB Kediri students were symbolically released by the Director of PSDKU UB Kediri to serve for one month in 24 villages spread across five sub-districts of Kediri Regency, East Java.
Prof. Sholeh Hadi Pramono, Director of PSDKU UB Kediri, stated that students would collaborate to overcome problems in these villages. By involving students from various study programs, it is hoped that they can apply their knowledge in an integrated manner in the fields of animal husbandry, fisheries and agriculture.

“This agrocomplex study aims to apply science and technology to increase community productivity, especially in dealing with food problems which are an important issue now and in the future,” he explained.
Soleh also emphasized the important role of academics in increasing agrocomplex productivity through empowering various sectors. Even though students’ experience may not be equivalent to the farmers, they have scientific knowledge about proper management and cultivation to increase productivity.
The five sub-districts targeted by KKN this year are Kepung, Badas, Ngadiluwih, Ngancar and Plosoklaten. Determining the location of the service was carried out through an audience with the Kediri Regency Government.
Dr. Ir. H. Moch. Saleh Udin, MM., Head of Bappeda Kediri Regency, expressed his appreciation for this program. He explained that Kediri Regency Government is implementing the quadruple helix concept in agricultural development, which involves farmers, academics, business and government (PABG).
The Head of Bappeda also highlighted the Kediri Regency Government’s focus on building economic transformation, with three important aspects in developing the agricultural sector: technological approaches, productivity, and spatial or regional aspects. (Septyan/VQ/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
