Siap UB Program Sends 10 Students to  Taiwan

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) sent ten students to participate in a summer course program at National Sun Yat Sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan to provide students with global academic experience.

This program lasts for two weeks, starting from July 21 to August 2, 2024, and is part of the Short-term International Academic Program (SIAP) initiated by Global Academic Engagement (GAE) Universitas Brawijaya. The SIAP program was pioneered by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Imam Santoso.

“We hope that students who take part in this program can improve their soft skills in facing global competition, have an open mind, as well as intercultural skills and tolerance. During the two weeks in Taiwan, students will learn Mandarin, get an introduction to Taiwanese culture, and interact with students from various countries at NSYSU,” said the program coordinator, Fitri Hariana Oktaviani, SS, SE, M.Commun, PhD

The ten students who participated came from various faculties, namely the Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medicine, and PSDKU Kediri. They also received limited incentive assistance or partial funding from Universitas Brawijaya to support their participation in this program. Gede Gowinda Nanda Swara, a student from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (FIA), said the SIAP program provides an opportunity for students to gain international experience and encourages them to actively seek similar programs, especially for those who take international class programs.

The SIAP program designed by GAE is open to all Universitas Brawijaya students. In the future, students who are interested in taking this program can obtain information through the official website gae.ub.ac.id. (*/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
