Agribusiness of Animal Husbandry Interest, Master Program (S2), Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), invited Prof. Birendra Kumar virtually.
Professor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar became a guest lecturer through the three in one program.
The Three in one program is a learning program that involves three teaching elements, including expert lecturers from abroad, expert practitioners from companies, and internal lecturers from Fapet UB. This step is an effort to improve the quality of the faculty with international reputation.
The program is applied to the Research Methodology course for students of Masters Program. The implementation was conducted three times face to face with different discussion topics, which are 5, 12, and 19 November 2020.
The initial meeting this time, Prof. Birendra conveyed about qualitative research.
According to him, qualitative research is descriptive and uses analysis. Collecting data through a complex process, researchers must instill perceptions in their minds, meet and mingle with open people, and test them through other means.
While the data collection methods consist of interviews, observations, Forum Discussion Group (FGD), content analysis, case studies, and Thematic Apperception Test (TAT).
“Qualitative research is natural, contextual, holistic (overall analysis), a long period in the field, and experiential learning,” said Birendra.
According to Dr. Siti Azizah., S.Pt., M.Sos., M.Commun, lecturer in Research Methodology subject, Prof. Birendra is expected to be able to expand knowledge and insight from different languages and cultures.
