FILKOM held a “3-in-1” program involving a visiting Associate Professor on Tuesday, (10/9/2024), in a hybrid manner. This activity took place offline at the Heuristic Theater, A building, Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) and online with speakers from Kyoto, Japan. The activity was guided by Dr. Eng. Irawati Nurmala Sari, S.Kom., M.Sc., a lecturer in Informatics Engineering. This event appreciated Assoc. Prof. Du Weiwei from Kyoto Institute of Technology (KIT), Japan, who delivered material on “Image Segmentation and Its Applications”.
It is hoped that the material can help participants understand and apply the knowledge gained. This event was attended by lecturers and 5th semester students, especially those taking Digital Image Processing and Computer Vision courses. This program was continued with two subsequent meetings on (17/9/2024) and (24/9/2024), with the following topics: Second Meeting: “Image Feature Extraction and Its Applications” on September 17, 2024, and Third Meeting: “Face Detection and Its Applications” on September 24, 2024.
“The guest lecture of the first of the three planned meetings is expected to provide new insights to students regarding the latest techniques in image segmentation and their applications in various fields,” explained Irawati. (ins/rr/Oky/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
