Prof. Dwi Budi Santoso, S.E., M.S., Ph.D was inaugurated as a professor, Wednesday (28/5/2025), at the Samantha Krida building, Universitas Brawijaya (UB). He is a Professor in the field of Regional Economics, at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). Based on the 2025-2045 RPJPN. Indonesia has an average per capita income growth target of 7.5% to 8.9% per year to achieve a per capita income of 23 to 30.3 thousand USD by the end of 2045. This high national economic growth target certainly has an impact on the high economic growth target at the provincial level, especially East Java.

Prof. Dwi Budi Santoso, S.E., M.S., Ph.D was inaugurated as a professor in Regional Economics

Prof. Dwi Budi developed a dual convergence club (KKnDa) mapping model which is expected to provide comprehensive information for regional planners to formulate policies to accelerate economic growth based on the characteristics of income dynamics and investment per capita. In addition to being used to design accelerated economic growth, this mapping model can also be used to formulate policies to reduce the level of economic inequality between regions.

Unlike the convergence club mapping model with a single indicator, the KKnDa mapping model is able to provide better and more complete analysis results, especially for the preparation of regional economic policies

The capabilities of this model are: (1) Identifying factors that influence economic growth and investment. Increasing regional innovation, for example, can quickly be known to have an impact on economic growth, when the innovation occurs in increasing productivity. (2) Identifying how large the level of income inequality is between regions, even in the form of large and small narratives, not on a ratio or interval scale. (3) Predicting the direction of regional economic growth and also the potential for per capita income disparities between regions. [MIT/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
