“UB has received the title as an informative public body for five years in a row through the Public Information Openness award from the Republic of Indonesia’s Central Ministry of Communication and Information. This is because there is a mindset that UB is a public institution, so it is necessary to understand the provision of information as a responsibility to the public,” said Ali Safaat.

One form of UB’s responsibility is to provide information that is the community’s right. Not only related to finances, but all aspects, such as calculating student grades, and others.

To achieve information transparency, Ali Safaat said that there needs to be good internal governance. The right organizational structure will facilitate coordination. In addition, there is a need for innovation to present information quickly and accurately, so that the information network is connected from universities to faculties to the general public.

“Transparency is a demand of the times. Understand the essence of being a public institution. “If we are still burdened with being open, it means that internal governance is not yet ideal,” said Ali Safaat.
