Prof. Cahyo Prayogo, S.P., M.P., Ph.D. as the 32nd active Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) and the 186th active Professor at Brawijaya University and the 345th Professor of all Professors produced by Brawijaya University.

The “CLIMO 1” Smart Technology concept includes the use and development of sensor data technology (technology on earth) which can record forest and land conditions above the surface and in real time, while at the same time monitoring field data from a far distance away with satellite imagery or UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) (technology in space).

“The use and application of TCHL “CLIMO 1″ through field trials can produce data that is quite accurate and reliable (92% at a speed of 6 Bytes per second) even though there are problems with continuity of data transmission due to unstable connections with the internet,” he explained.

This technology development was followed by analysis of more complex forest and land management components using a multivariate statistical analysis and modeling approach.

“The process of collecting data from sensors in the field can be combined and linked with data originating from UAVs with an average accuracy level of above 80 percent,” he explained.

The advantage of this technology is collecting fast and accurate data that is close to actual conditions in the field so that it can anticipate negative impacts resulting from forest and land management errors.

However, the weakness lies in the expensive infrastructure that must be built and the system that will be developed as well as the stability and continuity of data transmission.

For technology development, this tool is ready to be commercialized so it needs support from product innovation grants and needs support from industry or the private sector for large-scale product manufacturing.[sitirahma/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
