Four students of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) won Gold Medals in the Asean Innovative Science Environmental, and Entrepreneur Fair (AISEEF) 2021 through POTY.

POTY is an IoT (Internet of Thing) based hydroponic vegetable cultivation system that produces quality organic vegetable products. The method of POTY includes nutrient content, adding UV rays and a controlled aeration system via smartphone that can be used in greenhouses of various sizes

The Team Leader, Moch. Rofiul Qorni explained some of the advantages of POTY, namely the advantages of technology being able to control the needs of substances needed by plants.

“Thus, POTY is able to increase the production of high quality hydroponic vegetables but at a relatively more efficient cost,” he explained.

POTY also received a positive response when it was implemented in Tumpang and Kepanjen areas, Malang Regency.

“Thank God, I am glad with the existence of POTY since it really helps in hydroponic business. Even though my land and knowledge are limited, but thanks to POTY, the vegetables we produce are good at low cost, ”said one POTY user from Kepanjen, Zainab.

POTY made by Moch. Rofiul Qorni (FTP), Isbakhul Lailatil Fibriyah (FTP), Ivan Hidayat Eko Saputro (FTP), Aini Salsabila (FEB) from the Faculty of Economics and Business defeated 85 teams from India, Canada, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
