UB Library won third place in the East Java Academic Library Innovation Award (EVALIA) organized by the East Java FPPTI (Indonesian State University Library Forum).
In this category, the first and second place winners were won by Ciputra University and Widya Mandala Catholic University.
During the pandemic there were several innovations that have been implemented by libraries, namely online book lending, free online libraries, online submission of final assignments, access to e-books and e-journals using SSO RemoteXs, online information literacy training, file repository request services, social media and WA hotline.
“During this pandemic, the role of libraries as a center of information and knowledge for the community must continue to run as before the pandemic. Librarians are required to explore various things related to information sources, services, and strategies in order to meet the needs and satisfy the librarians, “said the Head of the Library, Johan C Noor.
EVALA (East Java Academic Librarian Award) and EVALIA (East Java Academic Librarian Innovation Award) have been held since 2017.
EVALA is an event for the selection of librarians with achievements at the tertiary level in East Java. Meanwhile, EVALIA is an appreciation event for libraries that can still innovate and be creative in organizing libraries both during the pandemic and the new normal era.
In the EVALA and EVALIA 2020 event, the UB Library sent two representatives, namely Maria Desi Swista Dewi, S.Pd., S.Hum with a paper entitled Brawijaya Library Service Innovation in the Covid 19 Pandemic and Prayoga Rizki Wikandani, SAP presenting a scientific paper entitled The Existence Brawijaya Library with Online Service System Implementation in New Normal Period.
This event was held online through zoom on December 15, 2020 starting from 08.00 to 17.00 WIB. Acting as the jury in this event are senior librarians, one of which is Mrs. Welmin Sunyi Ariningsih, M.Lib.
