Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Library provides Scopus Journal Article Submission Assistance for lecturers of the Department of Socio-Economics, Faculty of Agriculture (SOSEK FP UB) to support the improvement of lecturers’ academic publications through the optimization of e-resources which are the performance targets of the Library based on Bibliometrix and Systematic Literature Review (SLR), (3/2/2025). The activity was also carried out to assist lecturers in understanding scientific writing techniques that are in accordance with reputable journal standards and utilizing e-resources subscribed by Universitas Brawijaya maximally.
With a Bibliometrix and SLR-based approach, participants gained in-depth insight into research strategies and more effective article preparation techniques. This activity presented four experienced speakers from UB Library, namely Ir. Heri Prayitno, Widhi Atmoko, S.Si., M.Si., Pipit Tunjungsari, S.Kom. and Cuikitalia, S.E., M.M.
In this mentoring, participants were invited to understand how Bibliometrix Analysis can help in research mapping and selecting target journals. In addition, the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) technique was introduced to improve the quality and originality of research.
According to Ir. Heri Prayitno, SLR can speed up the writing process with a more systematic and efficient approach.
“Writing SLR articles manually takes a long time, but with the right technology and strategy, we can compile articles in a shorter time and according to Scopus journal standards,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pitoyo Widhi Atmoko emphasized the importance of bibliometric analysis in seeing global research trends and scientific collaboration. “By using the bibliometrix tool, lecturers can identify developing research fields and collaboration opportunities with other researchers,” he explained.
This activity is part of Library’s initiative to support the target of increasing scientific publications in reputable journals.
With this assistance, it is expected that SOSEK FP UB lecturers will be more confident in compiling and submitting their articles to Scopus indexed journals.
UB Library will continue to hold similar training and assistance to support the improvement of research quality, academic publications in UB and in order to optimize e-resources which are the performance targets of UB Library. (UB Library News/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
