Witnessed by the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, AR. MS and the Head of Indonesian Professors Association (API), Prof. Ari Purbayanto, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Universitas Brawijaya (FTP UB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP signed an online agreement with 63 universities throughout Indonesia on Thursday (05/08/2021).
In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS, said he was grateful and welcomed it.
“We appreciate it. Coincidentally, today is August, the month of independence. Indonesia is independent because of togetherness. The unity of Indonesia which consists of this diversity can be an example for all of us. The key word of any solution is innovation. It doesn’t have to be in allied fields of science but also across field. Universitas Brawijaya is very open and supportive. Hopefully this activity can increase not only the MBKM collaboration but also the initiation of other collaborations such as joint research, joint publications and or other activities,” he explained.
In line with UB Rector, the Head of API Prof. Ari Purbayanto also explained that innovation is needed to answer existing problems.
“Thanks to the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Brawijaya for this activity and even being active in various API activities and other scientific activities. API fully supports this collaboration, since it requires mutually supportive cooperation currently from various disciplines to create innovations and solutions, “explained Prof. Ari.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FTP UB who is also the chairman of the Communication Forum for Indonesian Agricultural Technology of Higher Education (FKPT-TPI) explained that today’s activity is a phase II cooperation agreement after previously making agreements with 34 other universities throughout Indonesia in January 2021.
“This agreement is concrete evidence for us and FKPT TPI in supporting MBKM. The purpose and objective is to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in supporting the Independent Learning – Independent Campus through the implementation of joint activities between universities and also providing opportunities for students to study outside of universities within the framework of the Independent Learning Campus Program,” explained the Dean.
