Universitas Brawijaya (UB) through the Amil, Zakat, and Shodakoh Agency (BAZIS) UB held a Mass Circumcision activity to help facilitate children of UB employees and the community around the campus who are economically eligible to receive assistance, Saturday (28/9/2024) at the 1st floor of the Rectorate Building, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang.

“The target is how Muslim brothers and sisters, children who are eligible to carry out this circumcision process can be helped, because their economic factors should not be constrained and delay them. By holding circumcisions with peers, psychologically the children are strengthened each other,” said the Head of BAZIS UB, Prof. Dr. Imam Santoso, MP.

One of the manifestations of Bazis UB’s concern in providing this positive contribution was held due to the collaboration with the Indonesian Circumcision Doctors Association (ASDOKI), the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) of Malang City, and supported by the Republic of Indonesia Employee Services Cooperative (KJPRI) UB, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP FIA UB.

Alhamdulillah, the collaboration with Asdoki, which has collaborated with various parties for the past 3 years, has gone very well, has provided facilities in the form of assistance in the form of personnel, expert doctors, and medical equipment with very good results as well, this can be seen from the children who underwent circumcision being able to carry out their activities as usual with very few complaints,” said Prof. Imam.

Furthermore, Prof. Imam said that this activity will continue to be held and will continue as one of the facilities in carrying out worship for families who really need to be assisted in the circumcision process, and this is also part of our mission, BAZIS encourages Muslim families to carry out the circumcision process for their children who have met the requirements.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Ahmad Imron Rozuli, SE., M.Sc., said that the routine mass circumcision activity held by Bazis Universitas Brawijaya was also in order to commemorate the birthday of the great Prophet Muhammad SAW. This event invited children of Universitas Brawijaya stakeholders and residents of the environment around Brawijaya and around the other Brawijaya campuses.

“This program aims to strengthen the relationship between us, UB as part of Brawijaya’s social mission carried out by Bazis,” he said.

It was said that the participants who registered to take part in this mass circumcision were approximately 100 circumcised children.

“By holding this event at Universitas Brawijaya, it is hoped that these children will remember when continuing their education to a higher level to be part of Universitas Brawijaya,” he continued.

This mass circumcision process provides eight service booths, handled by expert doctors from Asdoki, and supported by equipment with new technology that has run better, faster and smoother. (KAN/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
