Higher Education have a big role in educating students to become an entrepreneur with an environmental perspective or Green Entrepreneurship. This was stated by Mukhammad Kholid Mawardi, S.Sos., M.A.B., Ph.D in giving a scientific oration in the Open Meeting of UB’s 60th Anniversary, Thursday (5/1/2023) in Samantha Krida Building.
“Environmental issues have now become universal so that every human being has the awareness to protect the universe’s environment in accordance with his nature to be a leader on earth who has the task of not only processing but also protecting the environment,” he said.
He added that the concept of Green Entrepreneur refers to the generation of entrepreneurs who take advantage of opportunities to participate in solving social problems in society, one of which is related to the environment.
“An entrepreneur is required to care about the environment. Therefore, that is where the Role of Higher Education is in the Development of Green Entrepreneurship. Higher Education plays a strategic role in developing GE through an entrepreneurial education pattern to produce Green Entrepreneur competencies,” he said.
Mawardi added that students’ concern for Green Entrepreneurship is positively related to their entrepreneurship education and environmental knowledge. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans.Iir).
