Closing of the 16th of PEKSIMINAS, Minister of Education and Culture : Enthusiasm to Keep Trying

The 16th National Student Art Week 2022 has finished. The closing procession as well as the announcement of the winners was held on Friday morning (28/10/2022) lively, at Samanta Krida Building, Universitas Brawijaya. The event was attended by participants, assistants, jury and representatives from the Regional Indonesian Student Art Management Board and the Indonesian Talent Development Center.

According to Prof. Abdul Hakim, M.Si as the Chairman of BPSMI East Java, this activity provides many benefits in shaping the character of the participants. “Today, it coincides with the Youth Pledge, so it is appropriate to serve as a forum for increasing understanding of cultural values ​​and the diversity of the nation, so that we have high integrity in preserving the nation’s culture,” he explained.

The man who also serves as Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of Universitas Brawijaya appreciates the implementation of the PEKSIMINAS event. “Thank you to all those who have helped to organize the activities so far. Bring home the good impression, and leave the bad one in Malang,” he concluded.

Also presented online at the event this morning, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D as Plt. Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. In his speech, Nizam mentioned PEKSIMINAS as an important event for students. “PEKSIMINAS is an important event for students to express themselves. Art is a form of self-expression, and Indonesia is blessed with a variety of cultures that deserve to be developed towards the world stage,” he explained.

PEKSIMINAS, added Nizam, is one of the efforts to strengthen Indonesian arts and culture. “With the richness of Indonesian art and culture, Indonesia can raise Indonesia on the world stage. Make Indonesian artistic culture the host in your own country. Hopefully it will continue to inspire the nation’s art and culture,” said Nizam.

Besides Nizam, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadim Anwar Makarim, MBA was also present. In his speech, Nadim said, it is important for students to become Pancasila Students. “I’m not looking for someone who always wins, but who is at least afraid to try and believe in their own abilities and become a Pancasila student. Pancasila students are students whose attitudes and actions are in line with Pancasila values, are creative, critical, can work in groups and can find solutions to problems,” he explained.
