Higher education is based on the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, about how the knowledge gained can be applied as education, research and applied to the community. This is what a group of students from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, did in Sekarpuro village, Malang Regency.
For one month, 19 students of the Real Work Lecture program were deployed at the Sekarpuro village office. “During the KKN period, these students were placed to help with village office administration, as part of 5 KKN work programs,” said Kartika Putri Kumalasari, SE, MSA, Ak as the field supervisor.
In addition to village office administration, these students are also involved in other work programs, such as revamping the posyandu administration, volunteering to slaughter sacrificial animals, digitizing MSMEs, and cleaning villages. This Community Service Program will be held from June 20 to July 18, 2022.
“Improvement of posyandu administration is intended to facilitate the work of posyandu cadres by making books such as register books, inventories, and several other types. The students in the posyandu group are also involved in inspection activities, such as weighing, checking temperature and others,” explained the woman who is called Tika.
These students, added Tika, are also involved in developing local SME businesses. “In this program, students conduct surveys and distribute questionnaires. As a result, 6 selected MSMEs will be guided to implement digital marketing,” he added.
Apart from working in the village office, these students are also involved in a series of Cleaning Village activities. They also provide education about waste banks and service improvement surveys, to be a policy reference for RW 13, Sekarpuro. [Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
