As many as 16 delegates of Faculty of Medicine University of Brawijaya (FK-UB) joined in Scientific Atmosphere event series organized by “Hipocrates” scientific group Faculty of Medicine Udayana University on 11th-14th February 2016. The 16 delegates originated from 6 competition branches including literature review, research abstract competition, scientific poster (2 groups), public poster, educational essay and educational video.
Scientific Atmosphere event series was opened on 11th February 2016 at 7:00 pm by “Hipocrates” scientific group adviser, dr. Pande Januraga. In his opening remarks, dr. Pande Januraga delivered some medical inventions by medical students like heparin, catheter, etc. therefore, hopefully students who join in the competition can work like inventor students and not forgotten to publish their works. Afterwards, the event is continued with technical meeting. The event finished at 9:00 pm and being continued with participant mobilization to the hotel.
The second day is the day of which all the UB delegates presented their works in front of the judges. The event organized at lecture room Faculty of Medicine Udayana University. In the first session, at 8-12 am being organized a presentation of literature review competition, educational essay, public poster and scientific poster. In literature review competition branch, UB delegates represented by Krishna Rangga Permana and Deddy Dwi Septian. Educational essay competition branch is being represented by Elli maulidya. Meanwhile public poster competition branch is being represented by Azka Qothrunnada and Petrisia Ristanti. The other, a scientific poster is being represented by two groups. The first group including Ika Dewi Soraya, Rizka Farida and Wahyu Dwi Nugroho. The second group was including Yanti Marito Parhusip, Divayari Gardiani and Thoha Muhajir Albar.
Meanwhile in the second session, at 01:00 pm – 03:30 pm has organized an educational video and research abstract competition, of which in educational video competition branch, UB is being represented by Putu Ijiya Danta Awarata, Hasnah Okta Asyrofi and Elsa Safira Chaerinnisa. Meanwhile in the latest competition branch, research abstract competition, is being represented by Surya Iman Muhammad and Aulia Wahyu Indraswari. Each group was able to present their work properly and smoothly. In the night, has organized an event so-called yuk melali, a visit to some tourism areas and improving closeness among participants at once.
In the third day, the participants had a city tour in the morning and gala dinner in the night. The delegation departed at 07:00 am towards Balangan beach. They joined in water sport activities including banana boat and snorkeling there. Afterwards, the event continued with tourism to Penyu Island. And then, the delegates cleaned themselves and prepared towards five religions worship places. The delegates had worships as each religion and had a lunch. Afterwards they returned to the hotel and prepared gala dinner. The participants joined in gala dinner started from 07:00-10:00 pm. The participants had a dinner and familiarized each other there. In the event, there were also Jegeg and Bagus SA award. UB’s delegate, Deddy Dwi Septian was selected as Bagus SA.
In the last day, all delegates attended a national seminar titled “Holistic Care in Geriatric”. The event was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Udayana University. The event was then continued with keynote speaker of Director of Udayana University’s educational public hospital about “An Overview of Geriatric and Health Care Service”.
And then, the seminar continued with Udayana University’s Rector on issue titled Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 in Geriatrics Handling. Afterwards, educational video competition, educational poster and public essay winner is read. UB’s delegates are succeeded to grab the first champion in educational video on behalf of Putu Ijiya Danta Awata. Afterwards, the event was pursued with a seminar by I Gede Putu Darma Suyasa, S.Kp.Mng.PhD in a subject titled Geriatrics caring. In the last part of the event, is being read the winners of scientific poster, literature review and research abstract competition. UB’s delegates grab runner up for scientific poster on behalf of Ika Dewi Soraya and the third champion on literature review on behalf of Krishna Rangga Permana.
According to UB’s delegates, Putu Ijiya, Scientific Atmosphere is being wrapped interestingly although it is a scientific activity. Putu Ijiya also feels proud of UB’s delegates achievements although still cannot reach the general champion. Hopefully, with a more mature preparation, UB’s delegates able to get a better result.
