Thesis Topic Offers by Information Technology Education Study Program

In order to get graduates with qualified and precise final assignments, the Information Technology Education Study Program (PTI Study Program), Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB) held a Thesis Topic Sharing for IT Study Program students. The students who are required to take part in this activity start from the 2019 and 2020 batches as well as other batches who plan to complete their thesis in the Even Semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. At each event session there will be attendance and students who are proven not to be present at each of these sessions will be given strict academic sanctions.

Sharing sessions regarding thesis topic offerings from the PTI Study Program will be held for 2 weeks (30 January 2023 to 11 February 2023) with lecturers and alumni of PTI Study Program offering various topics every day.

Head of the PTI Study Program, Ir. Admaja Dwi Herlambang, S.Pd., M.Pd said that this sharing activity was carried out online because it was a form of flexibility from the study program to make it easier for students to participate. Even though various activities at FILKOM have been held offline, the sharing of these thesis topic offerings makes it easier for students to be able to take part anywhere.

“Efforts from this study program are to make it easier and help students to be able to get the thesis topics correctly and students get clear directions from the lecturers who will become supervisors according to their areas of expertise,” explained Herlambang.

In addition, Herlambang also expressed his hope that this activity would produce competent graduates to become educators who master and understand information technology and be effective in its application. Herlambang also explained in more detail the procedures and process of submitting a thesis at the faculty, starting from uploading the pre-proposal to the final semester and thesis examination. The pre-proposal must be discussed with the first supervisor who will verify the topics taken by students so that they can proceed to make proposals.

“Make the best use and maximize the time for consultation with supervisors. It would be redundant when consultations are only requested by supervisors to correct mistakes in thesis typing,” suggested Herlambang.

Herlambang added FILKOM itself also has an official written thesis guide and can be used as the main reference for completing the thesis, apart from the guidebook students are also encouraged to really follow the directions from the thesis supervisor [drn/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
